The late Adam West honored in downtown Los Angeles, and one last crusade for West’s Batman…

A quick followup and amendment to my last blog entry Adam West (1928-2017). The end of a Caped Crusader, and of an era…

Holy Memorial

A bat signal was flashed upon City Hall in downtown Los Angeles at 9 pm on June 15 2017, in honor of the late “Batman” television star Adam West.  It was a lovely tribute to an actor who rose from relative obscurity in small parts and B-movies to become a television icon beloved by millions since 1966.  Funds raised at the lighting ceremony were used to help support either the Adam West Memorial Fund for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Camp Rainbow Gold.   Even after his passing, West’s caped crusader was helping out kids in need.   Lovely and fitting.

And an amendment…

I’d assumed (mistakenly) in my last blog entry that the 2016 animated feature, “Return of the Caped Crusaders” was Adam West’s last turn as the character of Bruce Wayne/Batman.  It was not.

A friend of mine on another site (thank you, Gaz!) informed me that West, his costar Burt Ward (Dick Grayson/Robin) and Julie Newmar (Catwoman) had finished recording their vocals for one more animated Batman animated feature coming out later this year called, “Batman vs. Two-Face” (2017).

This new animated movie will also feature the vocals of William Shatner (Star Trek’s Captain Kirk himself) as Harvey Dent (aka the villain “Two-Face”).

Nice to know that West had one more turn as the Caped Crusader before his death (from leukemia) at age 88 on June 9th.

Adam West as Batman, soon to escape an elaborate-and-silly trap set by the nefarious-yet-beguiling Catwoman (Julie Newmar), as Robin (Burt Ward) looks on…

Like his iconic Batman, it seems the late Adam West had found yet another way to cheat death and fight another day…

You really make it appear so easy with your presentation however I to find this topic to be really something which I believe I’d never understand. It kind of feels too complex and very large for me. I’m taking a look forward on your next publish, I will attempt to get the cling of it!
